Question

Going to get the Bumpsteer mod done on my MY00 in the next couple of weeks but not sure whether to get some Eibach springs fitted at the same time.

I do a few Sprints in the car but it is also my 20k miles a year road car and so has to remain civilised to drive (save the SS downpipe & BB ).

Has anyone else done these mods together?

I had a 95 car, and fitted Eibachs with the standard dampers.

It was not too my liking at all and was advised to change the dampers as well.

I would get the bumpsteer done and see how you get on with that, then take some advice on what spring /damper will be suitable for the result you want.

On my old my99 I fitted Eibach's with the standard dampers. Performance was much improved, so was ride quality I *think* <my98 used different dampers & were not so suitable for spring changes, which maybe why Russell had problems.

Mind you, on the my00 this time I went the whole hog and fitted Koni adjustables too.

Pieman - do you mean the Bumpsteer & Eibach's? If so what's the ride quality like and do you have any problems with speedbumps etc?

Have just booked in for the Bumpsteer first, decided to do it in stages and see what difference each mod makes..

Thanks for the replies though folks..

Wink

P, I should be getting this combo fitted as soon as I am fit again (snapped achilles).

Eibachs are boxed up, sitting doing nothing in the house at the mo!!

All threads I've read on this combo has praised it to the hilt - no compromise on road quality, espacially with MYOO standard dampers.

It convinced me enough to go for it.

Thumbs up

I decided to do it in stages, so I could work out what mod did make a difference.

Stereo first day

MY00, Tyres first SO2s, wow.

Scoobysport Back Box, HELLO

Pro-drive settings before the bump steer mod, this almost eliminated the understeer. I have got used to a little understeer (only slight) and the car now handles like a dream. Have got used to steering with the throttle

Bump steer, not knocking it, but can't see that it could be much better. I will have it done though.

I would like to say I have four pots standard on mine, same as the P1 brakes. The two pots are absolutely pants. Went in an STi last night (as a passenger) with two pots, we almost went up the back of a couple of cars

Future projects

Next Pro-drive ECU and a chip

Finally, Pro drive brakes and a LPG conversion.

Cheers Phill C
