Cool

Folks, I have some suspension part numbers that are definitely Subaru parts. The problem is that the American parts guys do not know what car these numbers fit. I think these are for P1 Imprezas, but I really need confirmation. Any chance you can check a parts book over there and let me know? The numbers are:

F spring 20330fa160
R spring 20380fa450
fl strut 20311fa960
fr strut 20311fa950
rl strut 20360fa960
rr strut 20360fa950

Failing that, could you provide me with the telephone number of a cooperative Subaru dealership that could give me the information?
Thanks in advance,
Dan Z.

Shooter here from Graham Goodes.Checked out those part numbers for you. They are all good numbers and you are correct in saying that they are from a P1.
They are also fitted on 8/97> sti/wrx/2door
cars.I hope this information is enough for you or if not contact me at work tel:00441162452317.

These part numbers are for the STi 5 Type R which DOES NOT have exactly the same suspension as a P1!

Question

Thanks for your help. Now I am a little bit confused. As far as performance goes, what is the difference between the P1 suspension and the STi 5 type R? We yanks have had very little to choose from in the way of aftermarket Scooby parts up until recently.

Cool

Im also confussed in this matter of part numbers.I thought that the P1 was the same as the sti 5 type R so would that not run the same suspension set up Mike.
Please can you settle this matter for me and the lads in my area. Two of us run sti 5s and one has a P1.But after driving both cars I cant feel any difference. Both have red struts
front and rear, both have red inlet manifolds and both even have the same sti rear exhausts. So whats the difference?
Thanks in advance Mike for your time.

The P1 does not have exactly the same suspension as the STI cars, the springs are unique. There are also several different red dampers fitted to STi cars with different damper rates.

Other parts of the cars may be visually similar but are not actually the same such as exhaust, ecu etc. You may have also noticed that the P1 has ABS where the Type R does not!
