Question

I'm afraid I'm as thick as a whale omlette when it comes to suspension; I don't know me Eibach from me Koni.
I was told by Pete Crony a few weeks ago however, during a visit to Scoobysport, that I have non-standard Bilstien suspension on my STi4.
He said it was basically good news as the the standard STi suspension is a bit pants (why is that?) but how much better, and why, are these Bilsteins?
They do have a firm ride although not backbreaking (as you would expect in such a car) and so I am not in a rush to change, but it would be nice to know a bit more about them.
The only technical specification I can tell you is that they have nice pretty yellow struts and they must have been fitted in Japan as I am the first owner since import.
Is there a serial number stamped anywhere that I should look for?
Does anybody know what I'm talking about??
Does anybody care???

Neil.

All I can tell you is that Prodrive fit Bilstein to the WRC, and they are the dealer option at Subaru, so they're not too bad!

Cool

Sounds like good credentials to me.
I like this car better and better!
Now all I have to do is learn to drive it to its full potential and I'll have the lot!

Neil
I also have a STi4. I am very happy with my suspension. I am sure that other suspension are better than standard, but how much. I was at MIRA last weekend and found out what my car could do. I was told that I was lucky because it handled really well. The big thing is with the setup, if it is right, then eveything is fine. Go to MIRA you won't be disapointed. Email me if you want info.
