Question

I was just wondering whats the best solution to reducing understeer on MY99 saloon, 2000?

Its totally standard at the mo and I've only had it a couple of weeks so any advice is gonna be appreciated

Cool

Hi m8,
I went for eibach springs and prodrive geometry settings, things are hugely improved.
But I am still going for adj. rear anti roll bar and uprated droplinks all round, possibly front ARB uprated as well.
I would say the geometry has made the biggest difference up to now.
Hope this helps.

it seems prodrive geometery settings conteracts the inherent understeer built into the classic scooby to some extent. but ive got a 99uk scoob and the "bumpsteer removal" and "anti lift kit" fitted with "geometery re-set" at powerstation in cheltenham has reduced understeer to near enough 0 [which means if your to aggressive the rear can even get unruly]

Cheers guys

Think the bumpsteer fix and geometry reset is gonna be the way forward, the Eibachs will have to wait a little while. I used Eibach anti rollbars on my old vr6 and they were excellent, so I can only assume the same is true about their springs and shocks.

BTW, what can I expect to pay for the bumpsteer fix/geometry reset and any pointers where to get it done. I live in north west and work in Manchester....

Thanks,

Cheltenham seems a bit far! What exactly do they do and how come they are the only people that do it??

I think they insert shimms between the steering rack and its mountings, but I'm sure they are the 'only' company offering the mod.

Do a search, the feedback from all who have had it done is very positive.

Jay if you are going to do the Eibachs it's really worth having it all done at the same time, if you have the Geo done now when you put the Eibachs on you will need the Geo done again,
it will be worth splashing out and having the whole lot done at once.

Im getting it sorted through my local club that I've just joined. The springs/bumpsteer fix will be a while off yet. Im getting the steering geometry done on Thursday morning to the Prodrive recommendations.
