The 'problem' with fitting the DCCD to an RB5 is that it needs a different output shaft. This has an additional bearing to support the centre diff. As far as I'm aware the DCCD compatible output shafts only come with a 1:1 drop gear set.

I would like to be able to do doughnuts in my RB5 amongst other things and was half tempted to sell it and buy an RA. Trouble is it would be so much hassle to remove all my mods and return it to standard. And it's lovely at the moment.
I wondered how much hassle would it be to source and fit the electronic diff controls as fitted to the type R and RA. Any idea of cost ?
Thanks Phill

andy is right.
rb5 will have a 3.54 final drive on the rear diff and a 3.9 on the one in the gearbox.
If you just change the transfer case containing the centre diff, make sure it has the 1.1:1 drop gears or use your existing ones as a donor set.

www.rallispec.com is an interesting site - they offer DCCD kits amongst many other goodies
I just ordered a Spec C steering wheel from them, so can comment on their customer service soon too (good so far).
