can somebody also tell me if a strut brace actually makes that much difference if you are just road driving and not track daying etc.thanks

yes, definately.

Depends mainly on what sort u have, i have a c/f & alloy sti brace.

They are adjustable, and if it is set up correctly it makes a huge difference whilst hard cornering.

What MY car?
If you own a <MY01 Impreza then yes it makes difference, otherwise only if you have uprated suspension worthwhile a strut brace as the new age WRXs have about 250% stiffer chassis from the classics.

I have a My94 UK, Front Top Strut brace, 4 point lower Brace & rear Top brace & believe me it drives like it is on rails It feels so taught round the corners its unbelievable..

Well worth it in my opinion especially if your fitting Eibachs Etc

I guess Greasemonkey is right if the brace cannot be tensioned on fitting. It'll slop around until the strut tower distorts enough to take up the slack.
Best get a 3 piece item so that the bar can be loaded up on fitting.
I can't find the thread but didn't Greasemonkey refer to the STi carbon brace?

Anyway, I have noticed such a difference on a Forester with a front brace that the back end feels quite flexible and now needs a brace in the boot.
