I have an 02 STi7 Type Uk fitted with 18" Speedlines and as you can see by the above pic the gaps between the wheels and the archs in particularly the front look enormous. Spoke to my dealer and he was checking whether the Prodrive lowering kit was available yet for this model. Anybody know if its available yet or got it fitted on similar model to mine. Also any comments on affect on ride or if driving style compromised due to lower ride height eg bottoming etc

I have been told that the Prodrive springs for the STI 7 will not be made ( yet ) as an official product, the reason I was told is the cost for this will be far to expensive as there was only a few hundred STI 7'S made.

Arron.

The Prodrive Eibach springs for the STi are still in development. Powerstation fit the old "Grey" Eibachs to STi's and they have recieved good feedback. TSL and JW-Racing both sell the new Eibach springs which are designed to go on both the MY01/02 WRX and STi.

Personally, I am waiting for the Prodrive Eibachs as these will be the first springs on the market which are designed (I think) specifically for the STi (which is heavier than all the other Scoob models).

SACC 2554 I think is the part number for the STi springs, though my dealer says they have no idea when the stock will arrive.

Parts Dept in my dealer spoke to Subaru today, they Know they are coming but have no idea when they will get them from prodrive. They do have parts numbers though so you should be able to order them.

The Prodrive springs aren't anywhere near signed off by Prodrive/IM yet. My guess is it will be at least a month. Nobody else has a dedicated spring for the STI UK.

Can anyone confirm this? I was hanging on for the official prodrive springs but if they're going to be seriously delayed then I'll go with Powerstations eibachs.

Chelspeed, if you want to try the Powerstation set-up drop me a line, i'm not far from you. (STI7 PPP with Eibachs, Whiteline rear anti roll bar and drop links + STI front and rear strut braces )

Thats exactly what PS recommended for me, except for the strut braces, so I'm interested. I'll be in touch.

Arron/Chelspeed

It's complete rubbish.
There has been a delay in the production of the springs and we are hoping to get stock early in the New Year. Be very careful when fitting springs that are not specifically designed for the STi as there are issues with side loading on the dampers if the springs are not absolutely perfect.

Cheers for the heads up Mike, it is a little frustrating when the dealers can get no info, Mine didn't even know they existed, he does now.

I've been waiting for ages for some news on these springs, I wanted to get the PPP and springs done at the same time.

Just cannot understand why there is such secrecy involved with Prodrive products, the delay should have been reported weeks ago.

Customers have been asking their dealers, the dealers know very little and people get fed up and buy something else instead or rumours start all because of a lack of communication.

Are the Pro Drive springs for MY02 WRX worth getting? I had some Pro Drive springs fitted on my MY01 Legacy 2.5 and it made the whole car so much better.

:-)

No, because the Prodrive springs have not been released yet. I don't know what it is that your dealer is selling you but I doubt they are designed for the STi!!!

Mike Wood

I think it is you that is talking complete rubbish. How can the spring effect the side load on the damper? Unless of course they are like the Pro-Drive springs we fitted for a customer on his 01 WRX which did not fit the spring cups correctly!!!!!!!
