Default Coilover options 650hp Hawkeye

As above I'm in the market for some decent coilovers for my 06 Hawkeye STI.

Not interested in BC.

I'm looking at Meister R and am wondering if the GT1 are worth the extra over the CRD.

Also considering KW will probably look at variant 3 as they are similar price to the GT1.

Car will be used primarily as a road car so that will be its focus so must not be a filling removing hard ride.
However I would also like to do the odd trackday and maybe some sprints so they need to be pretty good all round units.

Would possibly consider some Teins but from what I've read they'll fall into the too hard for UK roads box

Any suggestions from people who have experience of using anything half decent would be massively appreciated.
cheers

Daz

I'm about 70 hp behind you and i had AST 5100's and i loved them , with in a year they started to leak so AST fixed them under warranty in the mean time i tried the Meister crds and i didn't like them that much they were fine on smooth roads but a bit crashy on b roads, if i set them soft i found them bouncy, if set them slightly harder i found them harsh , before that i had the Tein basis which are not adjustable but i found them to be compliant but firm a good set up for the money. .
In the future i would be looking at Nitrons although i've heard good reports about the GT1s but have no experience of them.

I'm now back on the ASTs modified and fixed by Cooksport who have taken over from Curtis i believe he now works for Nitron

Thanks, great feed back. I initially considered AST but have read about lots of them needing to be rebuilt after not much use so I've discounted them.
Although when functioning as they should they are well spoken of.
I'd like nitrons but even the entry level ones are silly money.
I'm favouring the GT1 at the minute but could do with an opinion from someone who's had them and see what they think.

Thanks.

As a good all rounder I have found Bilsteins to be good, I'm only running the B14's but compared to the teins I had on previously the ride is very much improved and they work well on track. If I had the budget then NItrons would be in my basket.

i believe the teins are now revised and more comfortable as they were way too harsh quite a few years back. can also use the electronic control side for when you need to adjust the damping

Not sure i can help much but went from bc to gt-1 on my hawkeye and I personally found a great improvement for how I like a car. I dont do track days but found them better on the roads I drive. It could have been the set up but I found the bc's to be harsh compared to the meister but could have just been the settings.

Nope, still deciding.
Narrowed it down to 3, GT1's KW Clubsport or the expensive Nitron option.

Unless someone can give me a proper alternative.
