Does anyone know the differences in the 03-04 Sti dampers vs the 06-07 Sti.

As far as I can make out its just the distance between the holes on bracket on the damper body.

Only reason I'm asking is that nobody sells a aftermarket replacement front damper for the hawk Sti.

So I'm wondering if it would be possible to buy a kyb ultra damper for a 04 Sti and insert the working parts into the damper body of my widetrack one?
I want to rebuild my dampers and Subaru can suck a **** if I'm paying best part of £1000 for two front struts.

Check out eBay item no: 161673837299 they're front rb320 struts, I used these on my 05 Sti (same suspension as hawk) and kyb ultra rears for 04 Sti with prodrive springs.

Good idea but I would rather have dampers that are matched. I'm guessing the rb320 ones are a different rate to the Sti ones.

i also run the prodrive bilsteins up front on my 06 STI, with std STI rears. if anything it makes the front more complient on UK roads

Bilstein will rebuild struts and alter valving to any specification you require, they charge about £80 a corner, but I'm pretty sure that they spent a fair bit of time on them for rb320....

I've ended up buying RB320 front and rear Bilstein dampers and RB320 springs.

In which case, you should complete the set, with the 21mm adjustable rear rb320 bar, from pca dynamics.

Yeah I may add the bar at a later date.
I got the Rb springs from pca dynamics.

They cost a lot but still cheaper than the stock kyb ones.
After a bit of haggling I got them for £328 each.

After getting the fronts from eBay and RB springs from PCA they were no more expensive than a set of B14
