clonking suspension
I've just had a fair bit of work on my 02 sti and its developed a weird noise.
Work I've had done
- changed suspension from borked BCs to KYBs and prodrive springs
- Loads of rust repair to rear jacking points and arches.
- Suspension geo
- New rear brake lines
Now the car makes a clonking noise, i've checked the shocks and I don't think its them (no visual sign of wear and doesn't clonk over bumps)
The noise happens at low speed (<20mph) and mainly when turning right.
My first guess is arb bushes - does anyone else have an idea before I take it to a specialist?

Done a bit more testing, noise is not related to throttle and I believe its not making a noise at speed because steering angles aren't as extreme. Noise seems to be from rear.
I'd be surprised/annoyed if it is track rods/wheel hubs as the suspension has been apart by three specialists, i'd expect them to have picked up on any thing broken.
Top mounts looked ok before fitting, anywhere I can read about these spacers?

Rear top mounts changed when blob replaced bug (02/03) as did struts. If you have 03+ springs then you need matching 03+ top mounts for them to fit. However However, 02 struts don't fit the later top mounts properly. There is play at the top which causes them to knock. A small metal sleeve is required to go over the top of each strut so that they fit correctly and eliminate the knocking. Search scooby921 and all will be revealed.
I'm in the process of ordering some PCA (Prodrive) springs for my Bug but only the later version are available. So I've been researching all this recently and have just ordered the strut spacers from the States.
