Exclamation Back end drops when coming to a stop?

I think there's a problem with my rear right suspension, when I'm braking and come to a stop the rear right of the car drops, not massively but it's definitely noticeable! It's only that side that does it, any ideas?

Car is a 2005 WRX with 48k miles.

Common problem. Was the same on mine. Had to change the full shockers as the grease had gone from inside the red part. There is a video on YouTube to overhaul them if your up to it

doubt I'd be able to do it without a car ramp.

You need to do the nipple mod really. Need greasing, pretty easy to do without a ramp

When mine went, i got a set of kyb golds from camskill. My STi had done 95k though, you may be able to save yours doing the mod mentioned.

Is there a how to on here or that you know of? I've never touched suspensions before.

mine are the same and they were only replaced with new ones 2 years ago!
a quick fix for now is to jack it up, pull up the rubber protective boot that covers the strut rod then smear the rod with grease. this will last a few weeks and stop the sticking. i do mine every 6 weeks or so and it only takes 15 mins to do.
the only real solutions are to replace and / or do the grease nipple mod or fit coilovers - BC seem to be a really good choice.

It's annoying me like as I've only had the car 2 weeks! Bought it private so can do nothing about that.

How do you do the grease nipple mod? What grease are you using cause I need it sorting ASAP!

the grease nipple mod is shown in the video further up the thread.
i use a pot of silicon grease that i bought years ago. see if halfrauds have a thicker grease in stock - you want it with the thickness of Vaseline. (in fact Vaseline will do the job as you cant do any more damage than they already have)

Well just greased all 4 shocks, see if it makes a difference? The back end rattle/squeak I have is my rear spoiler, I tried taking it off this morning but for whatever reason it won't come off?

yeah, you'll find the spoiler is held on with very strong double sided tape as well as the bolts. it will come off but you have to very gently prise it on each side. took me an hour or so to get mine off for the first time.
hope the grease stops the sticking for you..... it did for me.

Yeah the grease has worked mate I did some searching today about the spoiler rattle and it turned out to be the boot, I had to move the boot catch down and it's worked! No more rattle
