2.1 scdb forged short motor
Forged 2.1 scdb short motor
I have a 2.1 scdb forged short motor that I bought to replace the bottom end on my P1 with but after thinking about what I want the car for I think it is a bit overkill for my needs. I bought it from mattybr5 (pole position) off 22b.com and the engine was used on Big FUD's spec C with very good results. This is the original ad:
This is teist if the spec all items was brought from smmotor sports the head studs was delivered by hand from matt Clark personally all items that are listed are fitted.
Spec list as written on the advert:
2.1 built bottom end developed a strange noise at the ring possibly small end bush. Built at cost of 5k consist of 2l semi closed deck engine cases brand new nitride 79mm genuine Subaru crank shaft manley steel con rods and wiesco forged 93mm high compression pistons built at 9.1.1 ratio and rcm new range high cosworth 260.000psi head stud conversion with all new gaskets water pump timing gear and modded hi flow oil pump to top it all off a great built and a for a easy fix £1100

I have since decided to go for a near standard v5/6 sti engine or maybe a v8 but am not looking for more power so this is surplus to requirements.
Pictures can be posted if required
Looking for £1000 and can arrange a courier at cost if required.
Thanks,
Steven

Never actually got round to investigating it further but Matty told me and I'm sure will confirm that there was no bearing debris or other tell tale signs of bearing failure so was convinced it was a small end bush. I bought it knowing that it would need stripped and rebuilt but don't have the time with other projects and also don't have the money to make full use of this engine in my P1.
I just want it back my car back on the road so going for a lesser spec.

I had intended stripping and using the saveable parts and block for my build. Could be a can of worms but the list of parts is over £3000 so it is little outlay for the parts.
93mm hi comp wiseco forged pistons.
Manley conrods.
Nearly new 79mm nitrided crank
High pressure oil pump.
Semi closed deck block.
New water pump
RCM 260kpsi head bolts.
If you intend going for big power and get your engine builder to check everything over you will save on the build costs guaranteed.
I am not chasing big power so it isn't worth it for me.
