Hayward & Scott stainless steel slip jointed up pipe, great upgrade for WRX cost £120 new, will do it for £60 posted.

does the uppipe make the car sound any different and what sort of bhp gains does it give ??

@pot1175 - From what I can find, they're the same, other than the newage has an EGT boss and the classic doesn't; you can easily put a bolt in the EGT boss though (as I did with mine).

@Rammi_shaa - On a newage WRX, the up pipe has a cat in it.
I changed mine out for this and made an additional 8bhp and 12ft/lbs after mapping, and the car pulls far better with the reduced restriction.

One thing that sometimes happens is that the up pipe cat breaks down, goes through the turbo and BANG. Swapping it out means you eliminate that possibility.

Noise-wise you probably won't notice a huge difference; maybe a little more turbo noise.

If you remove the Catted uppipe or the EGT sensor that goes in, you need to install a 2200 ohm resistor across the terminals where the EGT sensor normally plugs in so as to fool the ECU and prevent it from throwing a CEL. It's a 2 minute job that I did on my old WRX.
Or...your mapper can map the code out

Look closer duds64 - I think you're seeing a shadow....suggest you revise that statement.
