You will see headers like these advertised on eBay and the like stating bhp gains of 25bhp etc, but unless you go for equal length you wont see an increase.

These will however decrease your spool up range by 500rpm which is pretty sweet!

Just remember if you go for equal length headers your car will loose its distinctive burble and sound like an EVO

Lol yh u see headers like dis but not RCM ones that fit perfect lol and that don't crack or blow as the flanges welded on poorly plus it proven there is torque increase and bhp as there larger bore an twin pipe from each head not like standard ones and have no cat in uppipe! Why on any big power build car u think u change the headers or even on a standard car just to free gas flow up,

RCM ones still Crack. I fitted a set on a Mates car, bought from RCM direct, and we had to have them welded up as it cracked and snapped off by the flange on the up pipe.. the weld never let go, it was the pipe that cracked, and it's not the first time i have seen it.

The uppipe is very substantial compared to the headers and will not crack. However that is the root of the problem. With continual heat cycling, expansion and contraction on a fairly long length of pipework the stresses seak out the weakest points and in time will crack.
With a slip jointed tubular uppipe the stress and compression is much reduced hence no cracking of the headers with that setup. There is the added advantage from my trick uppipe of more torque and far earlier spool. Unfortunately the new header sets are only sold with the supplied solid uppipe.

Harvey, you know if I had the money I'd have a set of your headers and up pipe in the blink of an eye!

Any chance of an interest free payment plan??
