Default 96 Sti Forged 450+.... £3650

Well the time has come where i fancy something different....

Where do i start?
For sale is my 1996 Sti ver2 in white, totally rust free with original unpainted arches in white, T&T till April 2013

Bodywork

Deliberately subtle looking as can be seen in the pics with a few touches to make it a little smarter/ up to date:

Facelift smoke crystal headlights and side lights
Lightweight alloy facelift bonnet & grill
Smoked front indicators/clear sides
Uk2000 16" wheels painted satin black (have original Sti's aswell)
Dark tints to rear windows
currently de-spoilered with M3 lip spoiler painted black (have original mid spoiler also) : boot still has holes to fit just covered to seal boot so new owner can decide which they prefer
Rear lights lightly tinted red, indicators still flash orange etc..

Interior

As stock apart from,

Small Momo wheel (makes such a difference)
Black AVCR currently on a longish cable so can hide away when wanted
Standard Sti trim apart from that, isn't mint but very tidy for a 16 year old car imo.
Prodrive gear ****

Suspention/ Brakes

Sti red struts with Hks lowering springs (combined with the small steering wheel truely makes it like a go kart) this is my 3rd impreza and by far the best handling!
4pot calipers from a blob wrx with new (2 weeks ago) discs and padgid pads ( a big improvement)
Solid rear drop links

And the best bit .......

Engine spec

Built aprox 4k miles ago by the previous owner with

Closed deck block
Brand new subaru crank
Eagle forged rods
Full acl race bearings
Mahl pistons
Lightly ported & polished ver1 heads buy Steve Smg
Polished reversed inlet manifold ( Could do with a buff over )
O-ring thermal inlet manifold spacers
800cc flow matched injectors
Cosworth gaskets
Parallel fuel rails with braided engine bay lines
Sard Fpr
Front mount intercooler (painted black for subtle looks behind bumper)
Huge cone filter
GT30 turbo with .63 a/r
Ceramic coated Gt spec 3bolt headers
Rotated uppipe
Rotated 3" decat down pipe leading to full 3" revolution exhaust ( not too loud when being sensible)
External wastegate with screamer pipe (loud when on it!! )
Cosworth belt with new cambelt kit
Group N modded sump
Mocal catch can

Management

Simtek ecu with 2 maps, one for 95 octane, one for 99
Boost control via Avcr using genuine apexi 3 port soenoid with settings for 2 maps + off which i believe runs wasregate press
Anti lag on swith by handbrake
Launch control activated in ecu but not switched on
Mapped by Simon Roe (jolly green monster)
3bar map sensor

I bought this car built pretty much as is and have tried to remember as much as possible but am sure to of forgotton lots. It never fails to put a smile on my face!

I have a few rolling road graphs, one being for a little over 450 horse power at Surrey rolling road,

To be as honest as possible as with most cars it has it's bad points

The turbo could do with a rebuild at some point as when you first come on boost it blows a puff of smoke but this is the only time it does it, I had intended to get this done but in the year that i've had it this has never got any worse and uses no oil!
The paintwork is not mint, it's had a fair few stone chips touched in ( not 2 bad now they done but they still there if you look for them) although it does polish up to a good shine.
The corner of the front bumper was scuffed whilst parked up but been touched in ( not great ) but not a big job to do properly. ( Was holding out for a facelift bumper)
There are a few car park dings around the car as with most paper thin panelled classics, but the car really does polish up to a nice finnish with no rot whatsoever on top or underneath!

Anyone wanting to build a car to this spec only need add up the parts alone to see how much it would cost!! In truth if I had the space i'd probably break the car for parts but i haven't and it would honestly be a shame to do so.

I'm looking for offers around £3650 for it and may be interested in a deal for something interesting but would prefer a straight sale

thanks Chris

Excuse the poor quality pics, more are available on request

Not really what I'm after at the min, but thanks Re. The box, I don't know if its the short gearing of the early Sti ? But it's still quiet as a mouse and smooth shifting, although it happily spins all4 in3rd in the wet

Yeah with the market being the way it is I thought I'd need to put it up relatively cheap to get a sale, I hope this doesn't put anybody off though as its a genuine daily driven/ school run car. My bad re engine size it's a 2lt
Thanks Chris
