Definitely a 1997/98 V4. (Used to have one)
Although slightly concerned by the bumper and grille that come from a V5/V6.
Can you shed any light on this?

Hello. Cheers BB3 well spotted & now amended! Imported with exhaust on it, engine standard though.
As for the grill, imported by garage/dealer as you see it, has all been checked out. Never had any probs, car well looked after and is in great condition.
Thanks for the GLWTS KAS35RSTI.

if you have no intention to buy it then why post your pointless comments, whats his car having another front bumper on got to do with you ? every time i see a for sale thread recently all i see is your pointless remarks about peoples cars, you posted on my thread a while back and had no intention of buying the car, why dont you just keep it shut and not bother posting.
btw good luck with the sale mate i love classics in black.

I would rather poke and ask questions rather than a potential buyer and member of this forum buying a shed! (not implying that the OP's car is a shed at all! )
This is a community after all. If you advertise on an enthusiasts website, be prepared for its members to ask questions.
If you don't like that, advertise on Autotrader or the Free Ads.

I agree with Gear. The whole point of buying a car from an enthusiast forum is that it's been scrutineer-ed, so you know you are buying a good one.

I agree that people need to be honest about the cars they're trying to sell but it also p1sses me right off when people post in for sale threads when they've got no interest in the car whatsoever, they're just bored and wanna try stir up some ****.

Look, people will travel quite a bit for the right car.
I know, I have done myself. But what I have learnt is that some people (not implying the OP at all) will tell you what you want to hear on the phone or email for you discover them to be complete lies when you get there.
I am not 'pissing' on the guys for sale thread. I asked a genuine question from a genuine enthusiast who has owned 3 classic scoobs in the past. So I know a little and I am always on the look out for another.
The fact was that the front grill and bumper do not match the year of the car. This raises the question - Why have they been changed?
The seller has informed us that it was like this when it was imported. Fine. I have no reason to disbelieve him.
What this will do is make any buyer want to check the front structural area of the car for themselves, just to be sure.
If that doesn't make sense to you, I don't know what will?
If you want people to go and buy cars blind, that's up to you. I would rather ask the right questions for both myself and any other potential buyer.
And for the record, Banny mentioned the rear bumper. I agreed with him and then mentioned the front bumper fog lights not being correct along with asking why it had been resprayed.
I will not post any more on this thread.
To the OP - Good luck with the sale. It looks like a good one!
