Default Price drop!!- 450/450 classic RA for £4995 !!

It is with much regret that I am selling my beloved Type RA, as I now have a company car. I have owned her for 4 years and she has been a faithful, but exciting daily driver throughout.

This car is perfect for fast road use, but would also perform well at the track (although I have never managed to take her to the track myself).

Being a Type RA version , the car is extremely lightweight and flies with the 452 bhp on tap!!

The 2.5 litre forged engine has done approx 20k miles, and pulls strongly throughout. The 6 speed gearbox copes well with the power and the Exedy twin plate clutch is easy to use on the road. The handling is pin sharp with fast-road geometry set by Elite in Rainham. The AP racing brakes are immense and well up to the job of stopping this car on the spot.

As you can see from the spec sheet, I have spent thousands on this car and
had no plans of selling her, but can not justify keeping her now that I have the company car.

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

Whilst I appreciate the looks are not to everyone's taste, I think it's important to realise that underneath the easily removed carbon fibre vinyl wrap lies a solid, unmolested type RA which has never been in a major accident and is HPI clear. To top it off - it's white - a very "modern colour".

Looks aside - there is no doubting this car's power, handling and road/track ability - whoever buys it will be getting an absolute bargain!

Stunning spec. I'd personally return the bodywork to standard before selling. I'm sure it would shift quicker.

Not sure about the quarter mile times as I haven't had the pleasure of taking the car to strip.

However, one thing is for sure - this car feels effortlessly quick on the road -some may even say too quick if you're trying to stick to the speed limits !!

Brings a bit of life to the thread, perhaps putting offers on the table also gives the seller his options.

I just hope the offers are genuine and not people being co*ks!

Brings it to the top I guess, and the OP can only say no

But If the car is genuine and engine still all good and cars not a shed, then yep its very much a real offer that I could follow through with 100%

I think i would be in a better position to offer more if you were to remove the wrapp on the car, also what petrol are you running for the 450bhp? cat 1 alarm?

No probs, and I would do the same if I were you ... Offers there at the moment - In 2 weeks time something else might have caught my eye or I might not be in a position as I am now.

GLWTS - in any other market it should sell quickly for very close to what your want, and If its all good it should still sell at very close to the asking price even in this market. Cars worth a fair bit more in bits TBH.

As above I think it would carry a wider audience if it were more stock/stealthy, and something I would be looking to do to it as a project if I got my hands on it.

To those making wild offers, try totting up the cost of parts to make a 450hp classic

True however when modifying you never get your money back, i bet its cost well over £5k alone on parts but the only way of getting a return on that is by stripping it which would be a shame

I know all to well TX, Search my threads Ive had at least one 400+scoob, with my most recent one running 450+ on a 2.5 and MD555, which I blew at the ring. I also know what they fetch when it comes to try and sell complete.

Breaking a car like this makes best financial sense, but I for one didn't/dont have the time, space or inclination so took the option to sell for less but quickly and easily.

But note your point, and yes superb value for money and by far the cheapest way to get to a 450bhp classic. Why anyone does it themselves when cars like this come onto the market fairly often I will never know.

My last example had well over 25K plowed into it in mods alone, not that i paid that..... And still blew a big end I might add.

Unfortunately I have neither the time nor the inclination to strip the car or remove the wrap.

The car will be sold as is - and yes someone will be getting a bargain whilst I take the financial hit.

I am willing to listen to all genuine offers, but still feel that £4600 is perhaps a little low even in this financial climate . However I may well change my mind in 2 weeks if she's still sitting on my drive ( the car - not the misses!!)

One thing is for sure - I will be looking to sell her relatively quickly - hence the initial asking price.

Oh and the 452 bhp figure was made on 99RON shell superunleaded for those wondering .
