S202 Spec C
Hi Guys and Gals,
I have had my 2002 JDM Spec C S202 in WR Blue for just over a year and love her to peices but am probably going to have to sell due to change in job location
all the usual goodies that the s202 comes with plus;
White mudflaps,
Prodrive front bumper,
High rise spoiler,
Prodrive grill,
18" OZ Prodrives,
Stepper gauges,
Apexi Boost Controller (not yet fitted),
Tein Super street coilovers (Pillow Ball),
and a few others that I cant remember.
No expense spared with this car and is my absolute pride and joy, MOT till Oct and Tax March ish
(Note: Below are piccies from last summer with standard grill, etc)
At the moment i am just testing the water, but am open to sensible offers.
Many Thanks Guys

Is it an S202?
Looks like a Prodrive Style JDM STI
Like our Prodrive bugeye but had the roof vent.
Really nice car though. Prodrive Style Bugeye is my favorite.

I thought the Prodrive style pack was only ever sold on the type UK models - have never seen a JDM one like it, only seen the traditional style with the square fog covers.
The Spec C RA (which the S202 was apparently based on) had the roof vent like this one but from what I've read in the past, the S202 had more mods, hence the original circa £40k price tag.
An S202 should have a titanium exhaust, different cams, an oil cooler, braided lines, the original rear spoiler and wouldn't have those sideskirts, rear spolier or bumper (and unless I'm mistaken, different wheels?) unless the owner's changed them (if the spec sheet is to be believed)?
Perhaps they can clarify?
There were only 400 made, and they would look like, or similar to the pics below in OEM guise:

I think it was called "Prodrive Style" but others disagree.
Here it is - never seen a white one - that would be awesome.
I don't get why someone would buy an S202 and take off all the bits that make it an S202.
I think a picture of the VIN plate would be needed to confirm exactly what it is.
Not going to comment on price but I don't think its an S202. However, I love Prodrive STIs and the JDM version is probably my most wanted car.

Right to clear a few things up guys:
When i brought her i was very sceptable of this car, but after lots of research and after driving her and doing extensive maintance i can tell you that;
everything checks out for the S202 satus including her weight,
lightweigt panels and glass,
braided lines,
uprated arbs,
rev gauge limit at 10k (visual)
and all the other goodies,
All of the changes were made to her before i brought her a year ago and i can promise you that i would have never ruined the best impreza ever made. The wing is aftermarket and is not genuine, the front bumper is an aftermarket prodrive bumper, as for the side skirts im not sure to be honest. Also the OZ prodrive wheels are obviously after market.
If anyone is seriously interested i welcome viewings, its all to easy to question something on here, when you cant see it for yourself. There are many "myths" that surrond these cars and it is all to easy question the car before you have seen it. Like i said guys just gauging interest for now.
She has a good service history since import, and has done approx 55k miles (this is an estimation due to speedo chip converter Kmh-Mph)

Does it still have the titanium exhaust?
Does it have the dark colour seats? (looks like it has from the pics and I think the Prodrive Style has the usual blue ones)
Does it have a numbered S202 plaque?
Does it have the nardi wheel?
The Prodrive Style cars had the same panels etc as the S202 (hence the vent) but not the uprated engine parts.
VIN needs posting to be sure.
The problem with pricing this car is that IF its an S202, its been modified cosmetically which affects the price. If its a Prodrive Style its worth "a bit" more than a UK Prodrive depending on condition/history.

Ok will post the vin asap,,,, to be completly honest even i am starting to wonder now myself if you guys can actually settle this from the vin (many have tried) then i will be happy no matter what the outcome, i have been assured by Fuji heavy industries in japan that she is what we thought, but if someone can find any information that says other wise it would be greatly appreciated. If the outcome is different to what me and many others thought then i would be greatful just to know.
