Default 450+bhp Blob. 46k miles. High spec.

Okay, I am now listing this again. As most of you know, I've just changed the engine and it's booked in for mapping on 9th April. After that I will advertise more widely but if you want to discuss a deal before mapping then I'll be happy to. I am also willing to consider taking another subaru in px with some cash my way. I'm expecting it to make well over 450bhp on the dyno as it made 457 last time and it now has better heads and a 93 piston. This is a seriously fast car already but it would be easy to add a flex fuel sensor and use alternative fuels to break the 500hp barrier. I will be listing at £17,000.

This is a UK car but has been very well looked after, no rust and very clean underneath. It has covered 46k miles in total and I have a whole file full of receipts.

Here is the spec:Engine: (Paul Finch built with spec sheet. approx. 1400 miles)
Spec C RA EJ207 (2.1 stoker)
Spec C big port Heads
Mahle 2618 Pistons
Manley H-beam rods
EJ257 Crank
ACL Race Bearings
11mm ARP Head Studs
Hyperflow Technologies winged sump
Greddy Oil Cooler
AH Fabrication Catch Can/Breather
Koyo Fast Radiator
Perrin Crank Pulley

Transmission:
STi 6 speed Box
ACT SB10-XTSS Organic Clutch
ACT Billet Fly Wheel

ECU & Fuelling:
Syvecs S6 ECU
Toucan ECU Controller
APS D/R Series FRP/03 Fuel System
Pierburg 3 Port Boost Controller
Omni Power 4 Bar MAP Sensor
Perrin 720cc Injectors
RCM 340 Fuel Pump

Intake & Exhaust:
AET VT Turbo (Custom GTX3071R) (approx 5k miles)
APS D/R 725 Front Mount Intercooler
APS 65mm Hard Pipes
APS 65mm Inner Wing Air Filter Kit
RCM Unequal Headers (wrapped)
Harvey Smith Trick Up Pipe
3” Hayward & Scott Exhaust

Wheels & Tyres:
PPF7 Prodrive Speedline 18” (they could be replicas)
Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R

Suspension:
KW Coilovers (Variant 3)
CDF Racing 24mm Anti Roll Bars
CDF Racing Anti-Lift Kit
CDF Racing Drop Links
Whiteline Engine Mounts
Whiteline Bump Steer Correction
Whiteline control arms
Whiteline Anti Roll Bar Mounts
PowerFlex Poly Bush Kit

Brakes:
Front: K-Sport 8 Pot with 356mm Grooved Rotors
Rear: STi Brembo with 316mm Grooved Rotors
Ferodo DS2500 Pads
CDF Racing Brake Stopper
Braided Lines

The are also some nice little touches around the car like a Prodrive battery stay, quick release steering wheel and JDM strut braces. Car will come with the private reg and touch screen Apple car play head unit.

Feel free to message me for more info..

Hi Rusti. I advertised back in October but decided to keep it in the end as I was planning to do some track days in it this year. I had booked up a couple of track days then had the bearing failure diagnosis and had to replace the engine so I cancelled them. Engine is all done now but I've been driving the RA around and just prefer it tbh so I decided to put this up for sale again. I did have interest in it back in October and someone made a very good offer over the phone but I told him I didn't want to sell at that point, not a single person came to view it though. I've already had a few people enquire but no firm offer as yet.

I won't lie, it will be very hard watching this drive away. I will get some comfort if it goes to a fellow enthusiast though ...

Thanks. Yes, it's a 2.1 stroker. I'll be getting it mapped by Romain at RaceCal (through Perfect Touch), he has good knowledge of the Syvecs having worked closely with Pat from SC. Perfect Touch are only 30 minutes from me, otherwise I would have gone with Bob again.
It's not laggy at all. My main focus when building this set up was to ensure a quick spooling progressive power delivery to make a fun road car and it is certainly that.

It really is a very clean and honest example. Someone will get a lot of car for the money, it owes me double that!

The new engine will be mapped on 9th April so I don't have a current print out.
Here is the old print out on the standard heads. It was previously road mapped by Bob Rawle.

Evening guys, I’m the lucky new owner of Adam’s car, well at least I will be when I collect it!

I was originally after a JDM car in either white or blue so this car was going completely against what I wanted but I thought it was worth a look as it is such a great spec and all the bits that I would do myself are already done and I’m glad I did

Just looking forward to picking it up now, not had a fast car for a good while now so I’ll be taking it pretty easy until I get used to it! Been driving a Civic Type R for the last 2 years so that’ll feel just a little bit tame in comparison!

Adam is a genuinely nice and upfront guy and a proper Scooby enthusiast so I’m confident I’ve bagged a good one! Cheers Adam

P.S. I forgot to say thanks for taking me out in your RA earlier, lovely car mate

With adams car, as soon as it said finch motorsport build you know it’s a serious weapon with no expense spared. 17g for fully forged motor with syvecs etc...they don’t come around very often. I bought my old blob with syvecs, sc46...all the top stuff for 9.5g but now it’s up for sale for 17g odd in bolton. It must be heart breaking spending all that money on a car then to sell it for a massive loss which is normal but then for it to get passed around every couple months. Ragged then sold 😭

Hi Johno. It’s tough making that decision to finally sell, as you know I’ve been considering it for a good six months so it wasn’t a quick decision. Having the RA on the drive has made it a little easier though.

I try not to think of the money and I’ve never added it up. I estimate I’ve spent around double what I’m getting back though. It’s fair to say I never planned on spending so much, it just kind of happened. I’m sure that the new owner appreciates what’s gone in to it though.

This is just the end of a chapter, the story will continue. I already have my eye on a new project and this time I’ve armed with all the experience of this one. 😁

Hi guys,

I know exactly how much time, effort and money that goes into building a very high spec car so I fully appreciate how gutting it is when it comes to selling your pride and joy then seeing it taken away and then abused, blown up, broken up for parts, sold on again etc.........

The last Sapphire Cosworth I built, I built it in memory of my dad and I put over £45k into it and it had the best of what I could afford on it. 2 years after finishing building it, I melted no.4 piston while out having a play (turned out my freshly built engine that was built by supposedly one of the best YB engine builders in the UK really wasn’t that well built ). The car sat in the garage for a few months while I got the motivation back but then something happened and my life basically went down the toilet and I fell apart. Long story short, my head wasn’t in the right place so I ended up selling the car to my friend for £8500 (MASSIVE LOSS) on the understanding that he rebuilt it and got it back to its former glory and enjoyed the car for what it was, a very good spec Cossie with all the right bits. He told me wanted the car to enjoy and keep.

The car was cobbled back together, most of the upgraded parts sold on, built back up to a much lesser spec and then sold on for nearly £20k. I was gutted especially knowing the effort and money invested in it. I guess I just felt a bit mugged off really.

I know technically it was his car so he could do what he wanted with it but it was still gutting nonetheless.

Now I’m getting my life back in order, it’s time to get myself back in a fast car and get back into what I really enjoy.

I intend to keep, enjoy and look after this car so I have no plans to sell on or break up for parts

Just looking forward to collection day now, even my daughter is getting excited!!

Adam sent me a little video of it yesterday and my feet are a bit itchier now! Lol!
