Default How can I remove adhesive left over from a stick on plate

I've spent hours trying to get this off, tries using adhesive solvent. Tried boiling water and a credit card, nothing works. These plates should be banned

it looks too far gone tbh, id replace the stick on plate unless you plan to respray the bonnet if it doesn't come up perfect

What makes it so bad is it's not just the adhesive residue. It's like the backing of the sticker. So it's like a film of plastic welded to the bonnet.

WD40 or equivalent also works.

Apply plenty, work in with old toothbrush, or fingertips, leave, wipe off, repeat until clean, then wash and wax.

Autosmart Tardis will remove that without a problem, leave it on for about 30 seconds or so and then just wipe the residue away.

If needed just do it again, and then polish the panel.

+1, had to remove a sticker from my boot which was on with the same type of stuff they give you for number plates, came up a treat.

White spirit got rid of the glue but not the plastic sticker back.

Looks like a complete film left over, try warming it up with a hairdryer and then start picking away.

The white spirit/petrol suggested will then get rid of any residue afterwards.
