Default Finally wrapped my roof.

Finally did the roof, very first attempt at wrapping and I'm very happy with the result. Now I did have a panic on trying to pull the backing off and it sticking to everything bar the roof(need more practise at that bit) but once it's onish and can be worked with the heat gun it turned out good. I know the lines of pattern aren't perfect but it will do for now for me. Pleased I gave it a go it was fun to do.

Where did you buy it from? Are you painting your wheels darker too?

Thanks mate.

Bought it from ebay 5 meters even though 2m would have done it. I might paint the wheels darker later but next is to fit an STI upper spoiler which I've bought then I'm fitting a new clutch, lightened flywheel , rear crank seal and a gearbox. So I'm busy for a while mate.

Thanks buddy, just surprised me to quick it appeared to go tit's up at first. Had been warned about it and told what to do luckily by other members.

Cheers mate, to get the wrinckles out you just re lift the wrap apply heat from a heat gun and all the creases dissappear it cool to watch then just lay it back down and smooth it off with the felt applicator thing. You just keep doing it until it's all flat. Didn't take to long about 2 hrs but I was on my own.

It's took way longer to remove the headliner and get the rails off and the gutters and roof cleaned and prepped than doing it.

I have Pete, the clutch isn't slipping yet but the peddle is now very high on the bitting point and my gearbox is crunching slightly on the change up to second gear. When I changed the gearbox oil a few months back it looked like gold metallic paint so something is wearing out in the box. The rear crank seal is no just giving the odd drip so I'm removing the engine and doing it just to make life a bit easier.

This is the seller I used. Enough here to do a full wagon roof twice.

dont take all the backing off in one go , let it roll up as you heat and smooth the leading edge. Also helps if you have help , and if you didnt , thats an even better result than you think !

i did my mates bonnet a while ago after he seen a few wee bits i wrapped. I was keeking myself doing it on a large panel , but while he held it off the surface i smothed it out quite easily.

Thanks mate, worst part was having to keep lifting it, heating it and smoothing a bit at a time with being on my own. Next time I will borrow a garage and have someone to hold it. I must of lifted it 150-200 times as I worked it. In the second pic you can see I had to have it just stuck on the roof all creased just to keep it in place as it was a bit breezy. Had loads of fun and I'm very happy with it. Will do more in the future now without a second thought.

That bonnet looks superb fella.
