NEW FOG LIGHT? HOW MUCH?
i've recently noticed while washing car that one of my front fog lights is smashed. looks like a stone or something. from what i gather looks like a sealed unit and prob the whole light will need changing. was woundering how much i'd be looking at for a new one, where from and are they easy to replace?

Well if we have to guess what car you have, I'd go for a classic, based on your username.
But even then there are two maybe even three types. The most expensive are the crystal ones, from 99 onwards. You can get them for around 50 quid a pair secondhand.
I think there are some in the for sale section now.

Is it a piaa(same ones fitted to the WR1)driving lamp? The reason why i ask is that i just had to replace one of my driving lamps which was smashed.I ordered it in November and it finally came last week.it costs about £75 new.I got mine from Motaman.

AFAIK, only the WR1 had DRIVING lamps fitted, the rest have FOG lights and there is a HUGE difference
Replacement ones can be had off e-bay etc, BUT:
They ARE handed, the one off the n/s will not fit the o/s etc.
Three bolts, unplug, three bolts, as stated above, you need a 10mm socket and extension.
Why not research and get some DRIVING lights which are actually worth having?

didn't realise some had fog lights and others had driving lights mate. without trying to sound stupid, i assume these lights come on same time as headlamps do they? if i decided replacing fog lamps with driving lamps are they a straight swap, or are do they require any new wiring?

Driving lamps, if fitted correctly, (ie: by a dealer, or someone in the know), are supposed to turn ON with main beam and go OFF when dip is selected. Some have the option of being switched out too, so that they don't come on at all if the driver so desires. Saves you flashing them as well at oncoming traffic in town to tell someone to have right of way etc..
Foglights are used only in inclement conditions, so are switched by the driver when the sidelights are on. They don't come on with no sides. or shouldn't
If you go from one to the other you do need to mod the wiring, but it's easy and costs just a few quid to do.
