Default Impreza Classic Question

I'm here in the US, and they did not give us the option of having a rear wiper on our 93-01 Impreza Coupe.

I am in contact with a auto glass supplier here in the US, and they are in need of a VIN from an Impreza that does have the rear wiper from the factory.

If someone would be kind enough to PM me the VIN of their Impreza Classic (that came with the rear wiper from the factory), I would be grateful!

Cheers!

The only ones in the UK with rear wash-wipe are imports: WRX, STI and Type R or RA.

My classic now has one, courtesy of a breaker's yard, an old WRX and a few hours of my time

honestly, i'm trying to do the exact same setup...

if you find another of the rear glass and wiper setup, i'd be willing to pay for your time, the materials and the shipping here to the US...

oh, how i do know that the shipping will be the highest cost.

Default vin

it would be cheaper for you to phone a scrapyard in britain or a scooby breaker and get a vin or chassis number off them and then order a back window form your glass people and get a rear wiper off ebay

If you want to go the British breaker route, give GradeA a ring, 01663 744114, they supplied all the bits I needed: rear screen, stalks, wiper motor and linkage, wiper arm, washer motor, washer bottle and all associated pipework.
It left me with just electrics to source, which I did from scratch following a wiring diagram someone sent me. I don't have it any more, sorry, before you ask

As stated above, it weill almost CERTAINLY be cheaper by FAR to ask them to supply the smaller bits, (all except the screen) and give you a VIN number so you can get a screen.
I have found them to be VERY helpful.

getting the wiper arm, and all the other small bits is easy. the rear glass is the most difficult piece.

yes, japan is closer, but also far more costly.

so, again, if anyone would be kind enough to share with me the VIN on their impreza that has the rear wiper from the factory, it would be very helpful.

thanks!

People don't like giving out the vin of their cars. As these are used for ringing cars etc.

wow. well, i have no intentions of doing that. the glass place that i'm going thru just wants the VIN of an Impreza with the rear glass option, so they can order the correct part.

besides that, how would i 'ring' a car from the UK in the US? and what would i gain?

i'm just trying to get the rear wiper glass setup. nothing else.

would anyone be willing to send me the VIN from an Impreza Classic with the rear wiper setup, that is resting in a local parts yard?

i dont want to put anyone off or make them feel uncomfortable... but, i do need this setup for the rainy season.

California has a rainy season
I can ask my local garage which has a few scrap imprezas (not too sure if the VIN plates are still on them though) but if they do it will be upto them to say if i can give you the number.
Have you asked on NASIOC at all?

our rainy season is nothing in comparison to any part of europe... no doubt of that.

btw - i'm in northern california... southern california has as much rain as the sahara desert...

i have not checked on nasioc, as i figured that most of the people on here at in the UK, so that would be the best place to start...

i'm still looking to get that VIN from an Impreza from a junk yard...

unfortunately, i do not have a phone that allows me to make international calls, so i cannot phone up the 'local' auto breaker in the UK... :/
