Best way to go spoilerless? 05sti
I have decided to go spoilerless on my 05 sti and wondered if anyone has gone down the route of removing, filling and painting. How much would it cost and would you recomend doing it or finiding a spoilerless boot lid instead?
I would like to buy a boot lid and have that sprayed up to match rather than touching the original or doing a swap as if I ever sell the car having the original spoiler/boot would be a must.
Does anyone know where I could buy a boot lid and how would i go about changing the locks to match my key?
Thanks all

i had my holes welded, filled and painted, as i know i will never put a spoiler back on.
Price wise i reckon you will be looking around £250. Tho it does all depend on the bodyshop.
I beleive litchfields sell Spec-C boot lids, which come without the holes, but would need painting.
Otherwise its like you say doing a swap, or checking ebay, breakers etc.
As for the locks, i think the original lock is only held on by a screw on collar (might be wrong), but should be easy to swap over.
All i can say is do it.... spoilerless is the future

offer a lid swap on various scoob forums and pistonheads, apparantly quite popular in the US. or price up a new scoob lid sprayed, and sell your lid and spoiler complete, you'd prob make a few quid too.

Thought about this initially but would rather keep the sti wing, i know an original is worth a bit and would be worth hanging onto if i ever facny changing back. May just go down the fill and paint route..gonna see how much it will cost.

It was more of a guestimate of the costs, ideally you would need to call round your local bodyshops. Just make sure they weld the holes, rather than just try fillering them up.
