Whats needed for a Version 8 Rear conversion to a Bug?

Default Whats needed for a Version 8 Rear conversion to a Bug?

Anyone done a version 8 rear bumper and light conversion to their version 7 bugs? Is it just a bumper and light swap? do the wiring looms match? (mines a JDM) Finally ive been told i need the bumper brackets off a version 8??? Anyone throw any light on the situation as i aint got the foggiest excuse the poor puns

theres a few guys that have done it on here mate seams quite straight forward just lights and bumper, ask bugeye_scoob he has done this conversion and a write up about it thinking of doing it myself also looks good hope this help

rear lamps plug straight in ok , you'll need the bumper irons as they have the dip in the same as the bumper

Thanks for the info chaps, are the bumper irons (brackets?) same bolt fixings on the bug as the blobs? Thanks

p.s. anyone got the bumper irons for sale?

I'll have a look for you mate , i did have some lying around , yes same fixing holes as bug

If ABW don't have them Kris, go to the dealer, they're not expensive.

if i was you id do the front end aswell mate make it look like a propa v8 sti monster

are the bumpers actually a different shape?

or do people do this conversion just for the different shape rear lights??

The bumpers have a slight dip in them for the round bit of the taillight, I did this conversion to my bug as the WRX ones are horrid.

sorry, i meant other than the small dip for the tail lights.

otherwise they are identical?? same depth, shape etc etc?

Not sure on that I teied to get an answer on that before and nobody seemed to know (for definate) as I wanted to get a resr skirt for a bug but didn't know if it would fir with the rear bumper being a blob.
