Talking My Classic is now skirtless!!!

Hey guys I posted a thread a while ago asking for pics of classics without skirts (thanks for all the pics) After looking at them and speaking to a fellow scooby owner I've made the decision to take em off!!! Its going to be an on going project as it will need holes welded up etc! There are a few mods I want to do as well, to the bumpers (don't worry nothing radical just simple mods that you would only notice if you look closely)and bodywork to clean the lines up and get that smooth look I'm after. Heres a couple of pics before the skirts were taken off;

In between; (look at all the crap thats collected over 11 years!!)

And finally after;

My numberplate project (I want to put it back in OEM place but not block my FMIC too much )

Just need to glue some black mesh on the back and bosh job done!!
Prob a little bit obsessive but hey its a bit different!!!

Fair bit of work to do now (including lowering it!!!!) finishing off with a full respray!! Any comments/suggestions gratefully received

paint the skirts blue and save yourself a lot of trouble IMO

Yes it probably does at the mo (although its the same look as an RA and the works cars didn't have them either!!) but theres a lot more to go into it before its finished, and hopefully it won't look like a GL then!!

Looks 100% better but you really need 17's not 18's to avoid the monster truck look without the skirts.

Gonna lower it quite a bit so hopefully will lose the monster truck look and hopefully gain tarmac rally car look!!!

Would prefer 17's but what you've done is really good, much cleaner looking.

How much work was involved? all those clip holes must have been a nightmare ?

Thanks. The clip holes are still there (12 on each side plus the ones in the bumper) Got to weld them all up, grind off, then tidy em up and paint em! Time consuming but IMO well worth the effort.

it's a nice clean look, but compared to the top pic it looks about a foot higher off the ground!
