WRX to STI Bonnet Scoop Change
I am wanting to change my standard WRX bonnet scoop to an STI one and was wondering if all I have to change is the scoop itself?
Is there a different undertray or something I have to change too or is it just the scoop part?
Its an 03 blob I have. Need to source a scoop first though!!
Thanks.

Thanks for the response, so if I where to change the intercooler to one from an STI then I would need the relevant under tray.
What benefit would I get from the STI intercooler if I where to swop over?

Yes if you were to change the intercooler you would need the correspoding undertray to get the best out of it, as the WRX tray wont cover the whole of the intercooler.
Without a remap the benefits of fitting the STI TMIC will be minimal, however with a map it will allow more boost to be dialled in.

As above! lol. My question is this, why change the scoop only? There is nothing to be gained from just doing that apart from an emptier pocket money wise.
Unless as I, and others do, you change the intercooler for an STi one, in which case you get the undertray, bonnet scoop, etc.

tbh, I am not sure if you would need a remap immediately, although I was advised to be careful until I had my remap done. Someone will reply with the correct info i am sure!

i read on another thread that if you change intercoolers you should get a remap as it can cause boost issues. if i can find the other thread i'll post a link to it

I swopped my newage intercooler for an STI one, had it on the car for a couple of years without map,I would say a remap is not needed if this is the only thing you have changed, but to get the most out of it you would.
