Question Window Surround (Plastic Thingy)

Is it possible to remove the dark perspex wind deflectors that are fitted to some imports?

I think they are glued on.

Has anyone done this and have any recommendations for the best way.....?

Thank you.

I think they are normally held on with strong double sided foam tape.

Should be able to remove them with some wire (thin stuff with insulation still on to protect the paint) then use a weak solvent and Tcut to get the rest off.

I haven't done it, but seen a few with the sticky still on

Dyney

The sticky stuff will be the problem, getting the plastic off is the easy bit....

I suppose I could heat it up a bit with the wife's hairdryer?

I did remove some stick foam stuff left by the wind deflectors using brake cleaning solvent. Took a while though!
I found spraying onto a wad of rag and leaving it on the foam softened it enough to make removal easier

they are held on with double sided tape, but be careful as there are clips in place aswell. undo the clips and it should pull off easy. use bodywork de-greaser from a bodywork shop or halfords ?
don't know why you would want to take them off though as they cover up the joins in the door trim and look very JAP styling, i thought mine looked loads better when i put them on. alot of others said so aswell.
