DIY mirror and door-handle colour coding?
Got a MY99 silver wagon, skirts have been colour coded but not the mirrors and door-handles.
I've had some spray paint mixed up at Halfords, grey primer and laquer, is this a simple enough job to do. As in the past, not had great success doing my own spary painting. Any tips advice on prepping etc would be welcome.
cheers

Dead easy mate.As below buy aerosol plastic primer or some grey primers have it in already, read back of your can.Use a scotch pad or wet and dry paper abouut 800 grade and flatten every bit down especially edges.Failure to do that means the paint will chip, peel of as i am sure you have seen before on bumpers etc.Spray even light coats, about 4 then one glossy coat.Leave ten mins between coats.A glossy coat is achieved by slowing your stroke down while spraying, not to much it will run.Leave base coat to dry for an hour then one LIGHT coat of lacquer followed ten minutes later by a gloss coat as above. voila that should be you mate

bluep,
Thanks for that. It's a metallic, so would it need the 4 light coats and one "glossy" coat of laquer? after the paint coats?
Also, managed to find a fella who can wire the new folding mirrors into the alarm system, fingers crossed.
