Likewise - be good to see a 'whole' car with one on, not just a close up of the bonnet - I'd be interested in seeing the water spray fitted too - Wonder how the 'auto' mode works ?

The waterspray system is just a pressure switch wired into a pump! When a certain boost pressure is reached, the switch triggers the pump, to spray the water. It looks like it operated by an STI dash switch. Did the same on my car for less than £40!

johnny, i've just had a look in members gallery http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=317700

i can't believe all the negative comments, the whole car looks really smart, if you parked beside any of the whingers they would all say "great looking car" but when its on here they've got to twist their faces

the scoop looks great, it certainly doesn't look out of place, keep up the good work DD

Thank you very much DD
It does seem weird that so many people have asked about fitting the scoop to a classic, the views back it up(over 350)!! Yet there are many people ready to knock it.
Thanks to everyone who has commented on the car, it is very much appreciated as i had doubts about doing it, especially after viewing some of the replys!

Thanks again everyone

First time I have seen the big scoop on a classic, as has been said, it doesn't look out of place. Nice one Johnny sti a) for doing it nicely and b) for having the bottle to do it

johnny how much over the intercooler hole does the scoop fit,
i only ask because people want the sti 8 to fit the pre face lift bonnets, but they want them to fit the original hole, so if some think yours is too (whatever?) whats a sti8 scoop to fit the original hole going to look like

Hi DD
Mine totally covers the hole. If you wanted to, you can cut the bonnet to allow more air in, but mine is done because i like the style. Also, as i still have the standard ic, i saw no real reason to cut it in due to the poss of having the cold air mix with hot engine heat because, to enlarge the scoop hole, you would remove the rubber/plastic seal that guides the air from the duct into the ic.
I know nothing about this stuff but assume it would happen with lateral thinking!
