Front Lip Spoiler 97 model advice please
#1
I am wanting to buy and fit a front lip spoiler for my WRX saloon. Now I can fit this myself and the painting will be no problem, but what is concerning me is the difference in pricing that I have seen. I want to buy one that is a good fit, has some sort of seal between the bumper and spoiler. Has anyone used either of these from ScoobyWorld.co.uk.
This one is £139.99 and is 3 piece, but does it have the seal and is it a good fit?
This one is £110.00 and looks like it is one piece, but again what about seal and fit?

sum notes
i modified mine byt fitting it slightly diffrent
i pulled the sides down where they meet the bumper edge, this meant mods to all 3 sections of the spoiler needed to be modified to suit, without this modifacation the spoiler fitted 100% perfect

whats the problem with fibre glass micky, when dhorwich put his scoop in members gallery you had a pop at it, donutmans got a p1 on his wagon and you ask "is the filler to put it on the bumper,"
there are different grades of fibre and resin, you must have had an experience of poor grp work and now your against it, if you took your splitter off and tried a jun on i don't think you'd change back, its a superior fit to the plastic, and is exceptional at speed,

i agree fundi, your work is the best and at prices that aren't a rip off like the subaru specialists we have to deal with,
i know i'd rather have your splitter than a plasic one, no wonder there £110, they cost about a fiver to produce and then the dealers put their usual 600% profit on

Be wary of the fibreglass ones, there are some 3 piece ones floating about (which is what I bought by mistake). They look fine once they're on (see below) but dont come with a fitting kit & to get a good fit they need sealing to the bumper & therefore the bumper needs painting as well (not a problem if you work in a bodyshop but a pain in the ar*e if you dont !)

Its not the fact that they are fiberglass. Like Fundin says, its entirely down to the skill of the manufacturer, laying up technique, and the amount of work they are prepared to put in on finishing. Equaly so of the mould maker. The whole process needs to be done right.
Do a search and you will find the reputable ones.
You will probably find the less reputable ones too, who give the rest of us a bad name.
Cheers Rob.

Thats a fair point Rob, fibreglass in itself is very easy to work with but the quality of the reproduction & fitting kit make all the difference. (the splitter I bought was just 3 pieces of fibreglass that had clearly been taken from a copy part in the 1st place, no fittings, holes, brackets or seals)

sorry missed this
i wouldnt be doing that as my mate has the jun one and i think its crap
his has cracked
another note
my mate has a fiberglass p1 front spoiler fitted and guess what we noticed on his this morning
big *** crack
i could go on for a long time, but i have seen fibreglass parts on cars ever scince i passed my test and have never been happy with the quality, i fitted sum fibreglass skirts on my girlfriends nova, they were crap
fitted a fibreglass bumper on another mates car, that was crap
seen countless "show" cars with cracked fibreglass
maybe you do sum good fibreglass work, but thats not gonna change my views
the reason i "had a pop" at his bonnet scoop was because i thought it looked crap if i rember correctly (im sure it was ages ago) didnt i say it looked unbalanced?
