MY00 Front Bumper Skin - Whats It Worth?
#1
I have just replaced the front bumper on my MY00, so have the other one potentially for sale. It is just the skin (I have no fixings etc).
Currently its painted Sonic Blue (74F I think) and is totally undamaged apart from stone chips, any idea what its worth? I know the old 'whatever someone will pay.......' applies as with all things, but I am hoping for a guide line price so would be grateful for any thoughts.
Thanks
Adam

Hi Steve
No difference other than the lower lip is fully painted whereas on my MY00 its only painted half way (its usually covered by the P1 lip spoiler anyhow), and the 'bar' that runs the length of the air intake (in line with the centre of the number plate) is also painted on the P1 (or it is on mine!!). Of course the additional holes for the lamps are already there, but thats it so far as I can see.

I think is another slight difference too, in the width of the sides, as I noticed on my Splitter it isnt as wide as the bumper, and on a P1 it is flush
I also noticed this on David Wallis's car on Sunday at TOTB II
I did notice that the bottomm bar under the number plate is painted all the way to the back too, on a P1
Not sure how much a MY00 bumper is worth tbh, but im sure someone will want it, who wants to do a facelift on theirs
Good luck tho
and there is always ebay

Bah
it means the actual bumper itself, not the underneath bit, just the whole front that is colourcoded
I did have a pic somewhere, but I cant find it

Thanks for the info Darren.
Steve, so if I could get a P1 splitter under my car it would at least fit properly, always nice to know.
Makes me wonder though if I would have a problem if I buy any other type or make, can't see many P1 owners having tried!

yeah never thought of that
I would imagine they would fit, I only know of one person who removed their splitter
If i was you , I would get the P1 Splitter, and just drive slower round the town people look more anyway with a splitter on

The problem I have is that my front bumper (with no splitter) is only 135mm off the ground, the P1 has more clearance than this with the splitter attached!

Crikey !! a bit low then
anyway here is a pic of the 'skin' however this is a P1 bumper complete with Splitter, and if I am not mistaken the very one you have (minus the splitter)
