Well I've been searching posts for answers to this and of all threads asking about removing roof bars, there weren't replies from anyone who had done this.....

Can anyone who has no roof bars on their 5 door, tell me what is in place of the holes in the strips?

I really want to take off the bars but dont know if anywhere sells replacement strips that run the whole length of the roof?

Anyone have pics of classic wagons with no roof bars?

Cheers
Ben

put a fao for David Wallis I think he was after some roof bars and could swap the things over for you so no damage as to be done. if no interest I have the items that you need to plug the holes up ones you have the bars off you can have them if needs be.

By the way once you have the grab handles and mouldings off the roof lining it is quite easy to take the roof bars off and vice versa.

Chaps

Another owner I know has removed the 'bars' from his Wagon. I'm pretty sure he got a company to do it, but I maybe wrong.

You'll find him on here as 'Krud' or 'No-Bars' Put a post in general and I'm sure he'll see it. Piccy of his wagon below...

here's the instructions on how to do it.

Remove roof rails

all you have to do is locate the parts
not a fun mod as you do have to remove the headliner

There's no bars on the roof of my wagon and I'd really like to fit them!! think they look a lot better with the IMHO.
