Fitting STi V spoiler
I put loads of foam pads on the bottom of my spoiler and then bolted it tight with the 4 holes that were there from my low level spoiler and its been fine. No leaks and its still seems nice and tight on the boot. It's so far had 2 months of welsh rain on it and not a problem

Did your car not have a spoiler from new then? I have the '98 UK car, and my V6 spoiler from GradeASubaru went on via the holes from the old flat spoiler.
Plenty of Puriflex,(from an automotive paint specialist) also holds it, in fact they tell me I'd have to tear the bootlid off to get it off now!!

yep I did the same, don't use a bodyshop sealant as you will never get the thing off if you ever wanted to change back when/if you sell the car.
foam padding and the four bolt holes is enough
