Having me one week old STI8's windows tinted today. 35% all round. I really hope I am doing the right thing. Would hate it if I go to pick it up and it looks like a pimp mobile.

It's a taste thing - I like them on dark cars but not on light ones.

If you really hate them then they can be removed - not the end of the world !

Red face

35% wont turn it into a pimp bus.......

Its quite subtle, just right in my opinion.

The thing you need to worry about is the test drive, they need to make sure there isnt any variation in the wind noise at 155mph
did they not tell you this?

I had to take mine off.

I asked for a very slight tint. Car came back like a pimp mobile
had to drive with the windows down as I could'nt see either. For example a cyclist along side you, or in your left mirror. Then you turn left - could have been nasty!

Never paid for it as I complained. But they would charge to take it off again

I had the re-inforced anti-break stuff - absolute **** to take off!

Blacked out windows look reasonable on dark cars I will agree, but in the main they are tacky ****.

Edited:- Can't belive **** is blanked out PMSL.

DONT PUT 25 ON THE FRONT, Was told that a new mot standard for window tints is nigh.

IV 25 at the rear and 35 in the front and it looks great.

I had the rears done on my RB5 with 15 % and am waiting for the back window (15%) and front windows (35%) to be fitted tomorrow. First I thought it would be too dark, but don't notice it from the inside now.

It'll be fine when you get the car back

IMHO they need to be all the same shade.

My wifes Jeep has 25% all round and looks great - I would have gone for 17% but she wouldn't let me

I just don't think my silver scoob would look right though !

Scooby L

Nice to hear from another satisfied customer haha.

I didnt have the prodrive pack fitted instead I have had a full Manifold back Trust performance exhaust and (to be fitted friday) trust induction kit. These two should be good for around 35BHP and give me the 300BHP that prodrive quote but without the ECU mods. DD cars fitted this from new and the 3 year warenntee stands.

I am more than happy and when the car has its 1000 mile service this friday I will really be able to open her up.

Unfortunatly i wont be around for jap fest but I will get to whatever i can, when i can.

nice to hear from ya mate.

Things get a lot more interesting after the 1000 mile service!!

Almost lost mine on the 1st r-bout out of Malmesbury after picking it up!!

Slowed me down for a bit... not to long though.

Unfortunatly my toyo's are starting to look half gone!! only 2500 miles so far..

It's all personnal opinions really. There is a legal requirement, although the Police station and two MOT test centres couldn't tell me what it was People that tinted the windows did say 35 % is legally the darkest you can have for the fronts. You can have anything for the rears and the back window.

If you look at a lot of the imports they normally have just the back and rear windows done

R6 ? 35% is the legal max. for the front windows - the percentage refers to the amount of light it lets through - so 25 would actually be darker than 35...

We did 35% on all the side windows and 23% on the rear window - it makes it look graduated from back to front and certainly not a pimp mobile Easy to drive even in the dark

There's a pic here under Jen and Chris Glad yours turned out ok Gary

I have them on mine as well and im lucky that mine is still recognisable without having to space them illegally.

I did look at a couple of scooby ones last week but i would have to muck about with spacing and i aint doing that anymore. Not worth the hassle and you only worry everytime you see a copper.

Each to their own though i say
