Question

Hi Folks

Justing looking at fitting a rear spoiler to my 01 WRX, it's a choice between the TSL STi or the Rallytech. The Rallytech spoiler is my favorite out of the 2 but I have read many different threads regarding fitting and leaking water problems.

Can I have some opinions from any of you guys who have fitted the Rallytech spoiler regarding this leaking water business and the quality if the spoiler.

Thanks in advance

Talking

Well,

I've had the Rallytec on my MY02 STi for about 10 months and have zero complaints. No water problems at all.

I didn't fit it, the dealer I bought the car from did so I can't comment on how hard they may be to fit.

Ta,

Matt

ive got a rallytech one, easy to fit, doesnt leak, even though ive not used bathroom sealer as some say, the thing that annoys me is that when you travel over bumpy roads etc you can hear it bumping a little almos t like it isnt secured all the way around, if you look at the base there is a large surface area to stick down unlike the scoobysport ones. look nice though

The only problem I've had with my Rallytech spoiler is paint bubbling.

However I've put this down to sh1te preparation by the bodyshop who sprayed it for me.

Easy to fit and no leaking problems. I used Sikaflex body adhesive around the holes though.

Nathan..

Ive got a Rallytech on my MY02 as well.

Excellent spoiler apart from a small water leak at the beginning.

Proved it was down to dodgy fitting by the bodyshop.

A mate helped me take it poff & put sealent under the spoiler around the bolt holes & brake cable & voila, not a single drop!!

Same with the paint bubbling as well. Once again it was most prob sdown to the bodyshop.

No problems with RallyTech spoiler at all. Been fitted for well over a year - no vibrations, water leaks, paint bubbling etc. Recommended.

Cheers Guys

Thanx for your advice, looks like the fantastic plastic will be out next week to pay for one.

Is DR Motorsport the only supplier??????????

The spoiler is actually made by RallyTech. DR Motorsport supply it along with a few others, including TSL I think. Thing to remember is that RallyTech actually make stuff for genuine rally cars, so they have had to improve the fit and finish for road cars, which is where some of the problems reported earlier in this thread have come from. Get a good paint finish and they look great. I think I am right in saying that the MY01 spoiler is a copy of the wing used on Scooby WRC 2000.

Chris
