Question

Does anyone on here make stick on front numberplates?

I've tried halfords/ripspeed no luck and yes I know they aren't 100% legal.

Thanks

madras

Anyone that works in a publishers/printers would be able to do them for you, it's just a case of printing onto a large packaging label sheet and spraying some sealer/lacquer on to it

I've tried halfords/ripspeed no luck and yes I know they aren't 100% legal.
I do like that 100% bit.....

ie. sorry your Honour, I know I killed the guy but could we say that it was maybe around 83.4% illegal, so can I have a reduced sentence please

You're right - they're not legal.

I know, I know, I know

What I'm after is a reflective vinyl sticky one.

oh - one of the illegal ones?

try Dave Wallis - I'm sure he had one once upon a time.

The offence comes from the stuff the stick-on plates are made from. None of the materials conform to British Standards, hence them not being acceptable.

burr,
So it's the materials not the location/slant that is illegal?

I have just changed my bonnet over and i am getting another sticker made up as i cant be asked to remove the old one and stick it on the new...
They cost £10-15 for my friend to do them, he cuts them on reflective backing with legal size/spacing.
Not saying that they are legal, but they are as close as you are going to be able to get without having an official/legal plate on.
I should be going over to see him next week to get mine done, if anyone would like one made up as well, mail me and i will sort out price etc...
For legal reasons buyers must be aware that these plates are not legal...

But they do look much better than the STD plate
And they dont block your front mount

Rob
p.s. if anyone would like a plate size other than standard please let me know in the mail.

I know you used to be able to get the stick on type from caravan accessory shops.
Worth a try !

Iain P did my smaller, yet legal letters and spacing front number plate. (5 digit plate)

He also did my sticker number plate, which wasn't as legal as the other one!
