DR Motorsport MY98 P1 Front Lip
#1
I have noticed that DR Motorsport is selling these to suit the older MY98 front bumper for £200 including painting. I have an STi 5 rear wing from him and I'm very happy with it
Just wondering if anyone has fitted one of these and if so how easy are they to fit and how well to they fit the bumper?
Cheers
Gavin

Just fitted one of his lips to a 99. Pretty good fit all round really, there are a couple of small gaps, but nothing I am at all worried about.
They sreww and bond on, which was a bit of a trick. Getting the screws through the lip in front of the radiator was the trickiest (despite being self tapers), but managed it in the end.
Will put a pic up some time, when it is lght.

Hi Matt,
I should be getting one of these in a few days also.
Is the bonding necessary, I was hoping to just screw it on - to enable removal of it if I sell the car or damage it.
P.S.
What part number was your whiteline brace (don't want to pay Cusco prices).

HI James, I reckon you could get away without bonding it to be honest.
Don't know what the part number is, but got it from Powerstation, and I'm sure they'd let you know it, if you asked.
Keep meaning to take and post a pic of the lip, but a) the car's filthy, and b) I never seem to have the time at the mo
MaPS what part of East Sussex are you from? My brother in law lives in Newhaven, and we're down to see him next week some time, so keep your eyes open

Does putting the P1 lip on require any drilling or does it use pre-drilled holes? Im interested in getting one of these and dont fancy any non-reversible work.
Cheers,
Simon.

Hi Matt,
I received my spoiler just before christmas and have been having a bit of a fiddle with it.
Does yours have a 1/2 inch gap underneath the original spoiler?
I was just going to place some acrylic spacers between them as opposed to bending the bitch right up against the body as this will unstick the top of the spoiler where i will ony attach with
double sided (waterproof) tape.
It does not go under the arches perfectly either, i had to remove 20mm or so to avoid the existing bolt under the arch so as to use the hole which is already there - did you find this?
P.S. I am in Crowborough.. nr Tunbridge wells..

sounds similar James, mine wasn't a perfect fit, but looks ok. I screwed in by the radiator and the wheel arches.

Having checked out the fitting of both types of front lip spoiler, we noticed the 93-98 ones fitted perfectly with no gaps anywhere, but on the 99-00 ones we noticed a couple of areas where they could be improved.
So the moulds have now been altered so there will be no gaps, and the ends at the wheel arches modified to be the same as the 93-98 lips.

How long did it take to come once it was ordered? I have had a couple of things from DRMotorsport and although excellent it has been a very long slow drawn out process to get them delivered. Both items apparently got lost in transport (I am still waiting for the second item)
