I know that this should be on styling bb but.....

How easy is it to remove the funny orange things from the front spoiler just below the front indicators?

also how do you do it, and am i right in thinking that a good rub down with wet and dry paper, followed by 2 coats of primer ,then paint will be enough to colour these bits?

Cheers all

any one any pics of theirs when complete.

Cheers Darren,

Mine is also a silver car, was thinking of black tho, what do ya reckon?

Sorry for the ignorance but what do you mean just behind them? You wont believe how many simple things i can bugger up, need to be sure.

There's a couple of slots along the top edge, you can prise them out with a flat screwdriver. Don't forget the laquer, then you won't have to do them ever again. Did mine black, too.

the grills are black plastic under the orange paint
use thin electrical scewdriver to prise out(do at top,if you slip and scratch paint it wont show, but it wont it is easy) then use nitromors paint stripper, work it into the louvers with paint brush, keep a bowl of water handy to wash off orange paint, you might have to repete a couple of times, then dry off and apply back to black 20 mins per side no problem

Otherwise, remove the screw from the front indicators, remove the indicator glasses and you can reach behind the "bits" with ease.
I painted mine black too, now I just need white front indicators to get rid of that ugly orange color...

My motor is DBM, i did the wedges in Hammerite silver, they match the clear indicators quite well.

Got DBM as well - for colour match I used Tamiya model paint (Telefonica Blue TS51).
Oh, be careful when popping them out - I put masking tape round the bodywork directly in front of them to prevent the rest of the paint being scratched as they came out.

Yep, well easy to do, took about 1 min to get them out on mine, used a flat head screwdriver, then primed them, used a Electric Blue Metallic and then laquered over the top, just to be different, that was 6 months ago and they havent chipped up or lost their look either....simple

They do make a difference they blend into the car rather than stand out. Look on the vin plate and it gives you the paint code and then you get paint made up at halfords. I primed mine then sprayed then laquered took three days in total as I left a day after each stage.

@ Ice man: good idea! Throw them away and buy an alu race grille. Looks very good.
