Default 2004 sti boot spoiler

Think I have water entering through spoiler mount bolts into boot area, what actually seals these ??
Was thinking of removing spoiler and cleaning thoroughly then refitting with gaskets cut from Denso tape?? Would this work for sealing and corrosion protection or better with original seal and any other pitfalls when removing spoiler to look out for???

thanks

Alan

It's just round foam gaskets so you could easily enough make some fresh ones - they've probably compressed over time with movement. I'm not familiar with Denso tape but the standard gaskets really aren't anything special.

Hi thanks for the response, I took this off last week and it was just round rubber discs but really thin which were split and perished. So I just removed these cleaned everything up really well and cut new gaskets from density tape
(it’s just a heavy cloth tape covered in anticorrosion paste stuff used in various environments for sealing and anti corrosion protection as it never dries), it sealed really well and gave a wood squish on compressionso no more water ingress.

Be careful what you use because i replaced the seal under the spoiler with some rubber circles cut out from an old car inner tube and when i removed it a yr or so later something in the rubber i had used reacted with the paint and stained the paint and wouldn't polish out whatever i tried
