Default Diy spray job

Question for anyone good at spray jobs, looking to spray my morrete lights myself and also a vortex generator. Anybody done a fairly decent job with rattle cans and also where is a good place to get the paints and do I just need primer, lacquer and the correct colour paint..

Obviously wet and dry paper.. What grades to use as well?

You'll want some 600, 800 and 1200 grit wet and dry. The 600 should be ok for keying the piece, then the 8/1200 for flatting back between coats.

As for the cans, try and find somewhere that sells rattle cans with a fanned nozzle. You'll find you get a better result that way. Oh and don't forget you'll want a plastic primer to ensure the paint adheres properly.

best result is the use a air compressor and spray gun..but you have to invest a lot of ££, but well worth it if you ask me (as you can do all the other part of the car in the future ) .

Would love to bud but as need to keep costs down I can't. I did borrow my dad's compressor a while back when it was working and used it before and the result was good. Apart from a bit of orange peal..

likewise got a few cans from them years back and they were great, would recommend them..

Recently not being in the u.k anymore I couldn't use Paints4u, so got Halfrauds to mix up a can and the match was great, came with a wide fan nozzle too. Think it was Holts..

Fab results can be had with rattle cans

I did the bumpstrips, mirrors and blended the side repeater delete all with a rattle cans on my old Fiesta picture below! You'll probably need to 'cut' the paint back after its dry though, I did!
