Default dash pods and gauges... what do you guys recommend?

I have a blobeye sti and have been contemplating dash pods and gauges but don't really want to lose the view of the clock or have masses of different colours all over the dash. I kinda like the standard green dash lighting.

So was wondering what set ups people have, how well they fit and how they look !!

If any advice can be given or pictures shared, that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

What colour is the dash lighting now? Light green?

Your best choice is Defi or Stack, both CAME in green, but the Defis are now deleted...they turn up occasionally but still sell for lots.

Have you looked at Autosport? I'm pretty sure you can choose the background lighting colour on one of their ranges, and, if fitted carefully, they are fine.

Cheers guys.

Yeh, the lighting is light green alcazar, which i quite like as my other car has everything in blue.
i've been trawling through pics of various on here and google, but if you guys do have any pics of what you've done along with a mention of what it is model wise... that would be great.

Those are my 60mm Defis in a 98 classic. I now have two more, except 52mm, in an A-pillar pod, fuel pressure and water temperature.

The fuel pressure and boost are linked at the control box so as to show differential pressure, ie: how much the fuel pressure is ABOVE the manifold pressure.

If all is running as it should, that stays at about 3.3bar, so I set the alarm for 3.1 bar.

Dash pod in a 55 plate blob with 52mm Gauges, was taken with a slower shutter speed so that's why the gauges look so bright.

you can still get the DEFIs in green, they are just on a long order. well worth it if you want reliable accurate gauges. you can get a centre pod that retains the clock in it too..lots of places sell them.

if you dont have deep pockets for the DEFIs then prosport do green gauges too that will match your dash.

I have a blobeye widetrack and decided to get red defis and change the colour of the green instrument panel. not as hard as I thought it would be.

What about D1 spec gauges? They look good and you can change colours, warnings and peak recall etc.

Gauge fitting is straightforward, plenty of threads on here and lots of folk who have done it available for advice.

Takes half a day, or a bit more with thinking time and breaks for coffee.

Buy a watch, or get a wireless that displays the time.

Deep enough pockets, get Defi's and run them in differential mode as Jeff say's above.

Pockets not quite that deep, buy Stack.

Accuracy is more important than gimmicks.

Yeah true, only reason I sold them was because there was water temp gauge and was lazy looking for oil pressure to replace it with.

Fuel Pressure & Volts, Boost Pressure & Water Temp, Oil pressure & Oil Temp.

Lit up, you have choices of green, red, amber, blue, magenta, cyan and white. I'm boring and have them all green matching the dash backlights. The warnings are set in red, there is a flashing red light and the display flashes also. I have turned off the audible warnings and only put them on when on track.

They're flashing as there is no fuel and oil pressure. Click below.

Ah, I see.
They used to be available from Subaru themselves, I believe.

I would start a new thread about it asking, "Where can I get this pod?" as your title.
