Friendly match, not bad tempo. But can someone tell me why Gerrard is playing? Every time I see him he plays long ***** and gives it away too often. He has a good tank and can make some great tackles, but is that enough?

, and I was having a few ciders I save special brew for the weekend 
. I used to rate gerrard but he is average at best, goals and assist's have dropped away badly in last few years for England. always goes missing in the big tournaments as do most England players. so yeah I stand by my comment of average player in a average team.

Great game, best friendly we've had in years.
As for Gerrard, I think I said in here over a year a go he isn't the player he once was, he's looked a yard short of pace for some time now, you can see why he has said he will retire from international football after the WC.
