Oh superb, one camera to film the entire game with **** poor commentary. Should make great viewing to watch Italy V Iraq in a empty ground. Can we just give the Aussies the trophy now??

So that means we get Clare Balding and Shaun Edwards again, oh goody. At least the people who haven't got Sky can watch a pacy kind of rugby for once.

Ray French.....if he is still alive...it's about time someone challenged sky for viewing rights to sport, and it's good start with showing the best team sport in the world

Do you mean Jonathan Davies I don't think Shaun Edwards affiliates with league any more.
For the record I'd rather watch it on the Beeb than Sky. As above Ray French will always be THE voice of rugby league.

Ray is alive and well, probably the most enthusiastic RL commentator in the world.
He broadcasts regularly on Radio Mereseyside Sports.

Lol, I think he would have to battle the " enthusiastic " part with gwellym Lloyd who broadcasts the hull FC matches on radio humberside lol. Not heard passion like it on radio, but he is an ex player for hull....but definitely ray French for tv broadcasts, he reminds me of grandstand for some odd reason haha

Here's an example of Ray's commentary..

He couldn't make his mind up to whether to say forward or hooker.

I find Ray French really dull to listen to and despite being an avid RL fan I can't get excited about this forthcoming event.

Depends if we choose players by skill and not by reputation this year, but it will still be a tough ask to lift the trophy
