Most people have said it should have been a red. I think the ref got it wrong. To be honest I thought Hernandez dived as I saw it live.

Macmac makes the point perfectly clear, when Cole started the tackle, i.e. launched himself, the ball was well and truely in play and Hernandez hadn't yet laid a boot on it.

I think Cole was trying to block, but he followed through into the player, i don't think he was trying to injure him but still deserved red for dangerous play...

I suspect the linesman didn't see the foul itself, only the deliberate & malicious kick that Cole swung at the back of Hernandez' legs, which definitely happened after the ball went out of play
