Just checked the Premier League table any they're lying below Hull in 17th place!
So how come no-one's talking about Golden Boy Gianfranco Zola being up for the chop yet?
Already out of the League Cup and only 1 Premier League win all season and that was way back in mid-August against lowly new boys Wolves!
Frankly I'm surprised he's lasted this long with that sort of record.

Over 5 weeks on from the OP and West Ham are still sitting pretty in a dreadful 17th place. Still no calls for Zola's head though: I guess the Board can't afford to pay him off (rather like Liverpool/Benitez), but they will lose a lot more if they spend next year in the Championship!
How many times have we seen a big name player jump straight into club management at the top level and make a complete Horlicks of it? Why not learn your trade in the lower leagues? I guess they are so used to living on their massive Premier League player pay-packets, that they cannot resign themselves to slumming it in Management of the lower leagues for a couple of years on a more realistic salary.

3 months and one transfer window later and West Ham are still there in 17th! I'd be getting a bit nervous if I was an 'Appy 'Ammer.
The only thing that will save them is that the 3 teams still below them are so unbelievably cr@p and one of them has had 9 points deducted. Zola can hardly take the credit for that.
Because of that, I am still pretty sure they will survive, but it's been a truly wretched season for WHU. I still cannot believe that Zola is in charge, but I guess it's too late in the day to get rid now.
What with the new Porno owners' decision to chop wages next year, I can't see it getting any better for them either.

just hoping that we can stay up, to go down would be the end really, read portsmouth, leeds, southampton, norwich etc
a club cannot live outside it's means for long, ljunberg was a waste of millions (80k a week!!) dyer has amounted to a costly crock, losing ashton was a big blow, have made a lot of poor signings in the last 18 months

That's a pretty shocking indictment of where we've got to. A club like West Ham shelling out nearly 37 million quid a year on wages just to end up 17th! Look at how many utter no-marks in that side are on a million+ quid a year!
20 of their 33 playing/coaching staff are being paid over a million each, with 7 players on 2 million+! How can West Ham be getting value for money?
Know wonder Gold & Sullivan choked on their own sp*nk when they saw the pay-roll.
