grimsby are down
bad times this year!!!
when i moved to cornwall they were top of the championship for a few months, now non-league
i'm a hammers fan, they nearly went down
i'm from grimsby so keep an eye out, the've gone down
live in cornwall, plymouth is nearest league team, they're down
dad is a sheffield wednesday fan they're down
might be time for me to stop following a team

Yes, 99 years. It's been coming for a few years. Last year they were only kept up by Luton's huge points deduction.
What sticks in the craw of all real footy fans is that ten years ago, they and Leicester City were about equally situated in the championship/old division two. (Can't remember what it was called then).
Both went bust at the same time. Grimsby chose to pay their debts and suffered consecutive relegations as money and players were hard to find. They only finished paying the taxman back this last year.
Leicester City went into admin, cheated their creditors and got promoted to the premiership. The rest is history.
But ask anyone in Barton on Humber, where Peter Birse Limited almost went bust, and 50 people were made redundant, because they built the Walker Stadium and never got paid for it, ask them how they feel? And Leicester now own that free and easy. How does THAT work?
