I see Ben Dirs is "commentating" on the BBC web site, you've got to love him.

a bit of a fuss about the trousers though

Not a bad couple of days work though. 240 would have been better, winable or destined for a draw?

If the weather holds I can see England trying to knock up 500+ and trying to skittle them out, that said it looks like it's going to be raining on and off a fair bit tomorrow, so that leaves Sun and Mon, probably not enough time imho

What was the issue with the strides ?

Big conflict between sponsors Team sponsors wanted all white rather than cream, problem is the strides have some colour panels and the kit sponsors want them to stay or something like that

Nice one Alistair Cook, at least one sportsman from Essex can hold his head high, unlike the shocking Southend result last night

KP should have done better, can't believe we are relying on the "strength" of Bell to help us out

Indeed! I used to play against Cook when he was 11/12. Looked a class apart then!

Unsurprisingly a draw. Weather was a huge factor in this one but should lessons be learnt?

Waaaaaay too early but Simon Jones is bowling tonight for worcs and looks surprisingly sharp ( up to 90mph ) and hostile.

Great to see, needs a pile of bowling now without injury though.

How much would I love to see Jones back to his best

Awesome bowler

talking of comebacks, old Warney wants to play in the Ashes next summer, I cant see Cricket Australia going with this but if they did it would be nice to see him one more time.

Default Punter hits 10,000

I see Ponting racked up 10,000 test runs yesterday, only the 7th to do so and the 3rd Aussie, unsurprisingly. The guy has always been a run machine but impressive all the same.

10,000

Even though he's an Aussie that's very impressive indeed, racked up in 118 matches. TEST runs at that so racked up against quality bowlers too.

To be honest, that's the sort of level KP should be at by now, hitting lots of runs on a regular consitent basis,3 years since the Ashes and if anything he has gone backwards imo.
