can't go on from 50 to make a big score - was the same in pakistan. Thought cook looked good this morning though.

Couple of debatable LBW's in there , but it's not a 247-7 pitch. Thought the new indian seamer bowled well...

Not doing too badly today are they? Tendulkar for 16 and Hoggard on 5 wickets, even Bellend has managed to bowl an over and not **** it up...

They have lost the advantage now. india are 283 for 7.

Sorry mate only just got this , my money was on the draw - I'd hedged with an Indian win on day 1 enough to get my stake back...

Steve

Banker draw in the 2nd test its on a mickey mouse track that yielded 1409 runs and about 30 wickets when IND played PAK there recently.

Another for Hoggie and also for Cook, looks like the real deal and Bell(end) must be looking over his shoulder in trepidation.

TEST RANKINGS - BOWLERS

1 - M Muralitharan (SL) 2 - G McGrath (Aus) 3 - S Warne (Aus) 4 - M Hoggard (Eng) 5 - M Ntini (SA) Hoggie is in great company there.

TEST RANKINGS - BATSMAN

1 - R Ponting (Aus) 2 - J Kallis (SA) 3 - B Lara (WI) 4 - M Hayden (Aus) 5 - Inzamam-ul-Haq (Pak)

will seam early so might keep some of the position back until 1st day lunch - then pile on the draw if either side is 2/3 down and the draw odds have lengthened....

Not the first test but a good result for England which gets a thumbs up from me, especially after the tests in Pakistan and what I though was a lack of strenght in depth for this side.

Turns out I was wrong - good one.
