Been a Palace since the late 70s (for my sins - don't know why ). Took great delight in phoning up a couple of Liverpool-supporting friends last night. Good match and I have to say that they were beaten by the better team on the night.
Dave - first I've heard about this and Dowie as well

Well remember that massive club Dowie left to go to that small club Palace? (Joke btw) we was in administration at the time, close to going down the pan when he drove off into the sunset (without a good bye and thanks for the support for giving me my chance at managing) in OAFCs Merc and kept it too (which we could have done with back under our circumstances) and wanting to take us to court because we owed him money from the sale of some of our good players during that time everyone was taking advantage of our situation... Not exactly a man in love with football if you ask me.
All the interviews that said he got us to the play offs on a shoestring budget yet he never felt the need to let everyone know they had their facts wrong and infact we had probably the biggest wage bill in the league and considerably more than alot of Championship sides too....
The punch in the air at the end of every good result, that sign of passion etc, yeah he did that too at his old club that he tried to help down the pan.
Sorry Cant take it away from the guy that he is a good man manager with superb motivational skills providing teams with probably the fittest in the football league yet hes still allowed to be a first class ****.
He wont be welcomed back to BP in the near future put it that way unless its in the FAC when we whoop ya a$$ and justice shall be done.

Dave, sorry to hear this... My mate's an Oldham fan, but he's never mentioned this.
Reminds me of the time Palace nearly went bust and good old Venables and trying to scrounge every penny out of us.

Aye dont worry sonu, your friend probably knows but just doesnt get annoyed like I do about it...lol I love my football and find it sickening to watch people like that try to bring the sport down... He was asking for cash and taking his merc when the club was in real trouble... Not the sort of person who loves football IMO, especially to a club he claimed to have loved and became, in his words "an adpoted northerner" and how his moto is "go hard or go home" what did he do when we was on the brink of relegation.... yup, you guessed it, he went home money grabbing back stabbing ugly features...lol
sorry rambling on again
p.s. great win for your lot last night hope you can get back to the prem, was cheering you on all last season, unlucky you went down in them final few minutes

Cheers, Dave.
Enjoyed watching Palace last season, we had some good results eg, 3 0 against Spurs
Hopefully we can get up this season and settle in the prem.
